How to Filter Twitter to See Links You've Retweeted
20 Mar
This should really be a video tutorial in the style of Jesse Newhart, but since I’m behind schedule on learning that trick, this’ll have to do.
Ever wish you could filter your Tweets so you could see JUST the times you tweeted or retweeted links? It’s easier than you think and saves you the trouble of scrolling through all of your past updates.
Disclaimer: I’m gonna show you the steps I took to get the results I wanted. If you just want the answer, skip to Step 5.
Step 1: Use Twitter Search to find any Tweets that include your Twitter username. Leave off the @ symbol. The results will include all of your tweets plus any @replies sent to you plus any Tweets about you.
Step 2: Narrow the results to only your tweets by adding the search term “-@yourname” (without the quotes). This will weed out any @replies sent to you.
Step 3: Narrow the results to only your tweets that include a link by adding the search term “http” (again, without quotes).
Step 4: If you want, narrow the results to only links that you’ve retweeted by adding the search term “RT” (or “retweet,” and again without quotes).
To see it in action, check out my search for Tweets I’ve published that include links I’ve retweeted.
