Why I Blog
27 Jul
Those of you who are close to me know the past few months have been challenging for me. I’ve had a world of upheaval in my life, some self-inflicted and some not-so-much. But this morning, I’m smiling.
Reader Puja Madan left these kind comments on Lisa Hoffmann’s blog:
Loved the post – touching and yet so insightful. I’m enjoying your writing immensely (thanks to @scotthepburn!) and look forward to more… cheers
Lisa is a dear friend and a gifted writer. She speaks from the heart and to her reader’s hearts. It’s been so much fun watching her blog find its voice, and I’m honored every time she asks for feedback.
Comments like Puja’s are the reason I blog. They’re the reason I read other people’s blogs, and the reason I Tweet about them. Sharing insights about marketing is good for my career, but introducing readers to writers like Lisa (and others!) is infinitely more gratifying.
Puja, thanks for showing me what blogging is all about.

Writers write for all sorts of reasons in an infinite variety of styles and voices, but I think we all have some things in common: the need to understand and the drive to share. And nothing is more satisfying for me than knowing someone else finds value in what I've written. I'm so grateful for people who take the time to read and comment – and for generous people like you who share my posts with others.
I write because I have to. Everything that comes with it a bonus, including nice posts like this. Thanks for brightening my day!

And one of the (many) reasons I follow your blog and Lisa's is because you are so refreshingly humble and gracious. Every single blogger or professional I look up to has demonstrated this over and over again.
I'm truly honored to be mentioned here Scott.
Look forward to more new media goodness coming from you :)
